This winder was received as a gift and is my second Heiden winder (first winder was purchased in 2001 and was done although still running roughly).
I was quite surprised when the new winder was opened that the battery compartment was loose and two of the four screws holding it in place were loose in the satin bag. Having never had a Heiden winder previously, I would have been hesitant to keep the damaged/improperly assembled unit. Knowing the previous Heiden's longevity I repaired the new unit and put this winder into service.
Hopefully this new Heiden winder will last as long as the Heiden it has replaced!
